  1. Listen if these guys are now get to get paid for likeness there’s only one place for that and it’s a video game! This new rule means nothing if a ncaa games don’t come back. Also the guys who cried about likeness and messed up ncaa games for everyone there’s a special place in hell for you

  2. I still play this game til this day I download updated roster with names, stats and rankings every year if anyone is interested just YouTube it or go to google and download it to a flash drive to save it on the console you have

  3. Interesting points made, however some student athlets that have athletic scholarships do get "full rides" but others dont.

An excellent article below – https://collegead.com/how-much-debt-are-student-athletes-leaving-with/

To start, per the NCAA, “More than 150,000 student-athletes receive $2.4 billion in athletic scholarships each year from NCAA member colleges and universities.” That works out to approximately $16,000 per student athlete, which falls quite short of the College Board’s estimated costs of tuition. Tuition for a public college for the 2015–2016 academic year averaged $23,890 for out-of-staters, $32,410 for private.
Knowing that many student-athletes do have full tuition coverage indicates that, just looking at these initial numbers, many others receive little-to-no scholarship assistance. The most obvious of these are NCAA and NJCAA D-III student-athletes, who receive no athletic scholarships whatsoever. Moreover, there is a substantial difference in the amount of support between sports within the same schools. For example, in 2015, baseball scholarships averaged $13,220, while football (at the FBS level) nearly tripled that at $36,070. An interesting side note, per website scholarshipstats.com, in 2015 women’s ice hockey topped all others in terms of greatest average amount awarded with $41,693.

  4. Even though I DO think these players deserve a little compensation. I still don't understand to this day why they can't just make vanilla rosters with community creations. WWE Games have been doing it for yearsss. Am I wrong here? Correct me if my logic is off

  5. Maybe this idea is stupid, maybe it isn't. What they should do is screw licensing players. The game developer should just say they aren't paying anybody for it, but each player would have the ability to opt-out of being in the game. So basically they ask everyone if they are ok with their likeness being used for free or not, and if not, fine, just put a random replacement player, nobody will care. If yes, great, no issues.

  6. Hold your horses folks. We probably won't get a game for a few years at least. First the details have to be worked out with the schools and the players. This likely won't happened for at least 1-2 years. Then companies would have to work out licensing after step 1 is complete. And then game development can start. We could easily not see a game till 2025. Also I won't buy this if EA is involved. 14 was great, but people forgot after about NCAA 11 EA started lacking innovation.

  7. What they need to do is get teams licensed. Then put random players on the teams. Once they do that. They can add the option to create and share rosters. Just a thought.

  8. So why don’t they just release NCAA Football, but not use any player likeness and do like what they did for QB1 in madden. It would be teams full of generic names and players that did not have likeness to any of the players on the team. I don’t care if anyone from the college teams is on the team, someone later can go through the rosters and make them realistic if they want and then just release that to to public. Just release an NCAA game with the teams and conferences. That’s all anyone wants. I don’t care if whiny college players are in the game. Shouldn’t have bitched about being in a video game in the first place.

  9. im confused why don't they just make a game that doesn't include the players? if the game was full of default made up players wouldn't that get around the whole issue? Id buy a NCAA game in an instant.

  10. Instead of being like Madden starting with the upcoming season, they could have started with the season 4 years ago, for instance, NCAA 2020 could start in 2016. By then, the majority of players are done and aren't bounded by NCAA rules and contracts so they could pay each player for their likeness. They've literally used real schools in Madden 2020 so using the schools wouldn't be a problem. Either use the roster from 4 years ago or just make a fake roster and try to avoid similar looking players. I don't know what's so hard about that.

  11. This so stupid the obannon bro messed up everything & they basketball players ! & they hadn’t been in school for years when Ncaa 14 came out so y They do this for absolutely nothing they made this claim cause they didn’t pan out so they butt hurt

  12. NCAA WAS FINE TO THE OBANNON BONE HEADS, THIS NOT NCAA BASKETBALL! WHICH THEY STOPPED WHEN UCLA STOPPED SMH DUDES didn’t have nothing better to do get out the sand box now! Lol

  13. It will not return. Why? The players will not have a monetary contract through the schools for the same amount. In other words, each player can decide what he or she wants which creates the problem. The NFL, NBA players have a bargaining agreement with all of the players which gives them all the same percentage from which allows for one price to be paid. There is no way that EA sports or 2K could play each individual player what they want and there are way more players on the college level. Now, with that being said this should be done. Game creators should allow individuals to create unlimited amount of tools to make faces, sizes ect… So, that way, they can have a contract just with the NCAA and they make generic players with various sizes so that it does not look like any athlete on the field. This would be the only way it could work. But, the players would be left out in that case. However, it saves game creators money.
