Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson was a guest earlier this week on Jomboy Media's "The Chris Rose Rotation," and he discussed a number of topics with the Miami University graduate - including seeing the Bengals play with teammate Jonathan India in Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles, playing minor-league baseball as the first job he ever had and meeting Preston, the first Reds fan he saw wearing his jersey.
In fact, Stephenson said he believes the Super Bowl in February was only the second NFL game he's ever seen in person, adding that he grew up near Atlanta but has never attended a Falcons game.
"I really thought (the Bengals) were gonna come down their last drive and win it," Stephenson said. "It was unbelievable the amount of support that they had. In L.A.? It was incredible the amount of Bengals fans and the amount of orange. It was special. And it says obviously a lot about the city of Cincinnati and how the fanbase can travel and how much they care about their sports. It was awesome. ... I really don't claim an NFL team. So I might as well support the Bengals while I'm here and they're good. ... I haven't been to a game here in Cincinnati yet. But I plan on that this offseason for sure."
"Great dude. He's the man," Stephenson said of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
@RoseRotation wished Stephenson a speedy recovery Thursday after the Reds confirmed that a broken thumb is expected to sideline Stephenson for 4-6 weeks:

Rose welcomed Joey Votto on the program last September. In April, former Reds and current Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos told Rose the Reds didn't call him after he decided to opt out and explore free agency.
