The Bengals announced Tuesday that they signed wide receiver and kick returner Trent Taylor to their offseason roster.
In his first season with the Bengals, Taylor played in four regular-season games and all four postseason games. In the AFC Championship last month, B.J. Hill's interception set up Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase's 2-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Joe Burrow late in the third quarter. The Bengals tied the game on Burrow's pass to Taylor for a 2-point conversion.
During the regular season, Taylor had two receptions for 41 yards in addition to seven punt returns for 52 yards (7.4 average) and four kickoff returns for 68 yards (17.0 average). He finished the playoffs with six punt returns for 76 yards (12.7 average).
On May 2021, the Bengals signed Taylor to a one-year deal. He was waived in August and re-signed to the practice squad.
Taylor played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
