Cincinnati Enquirer names high school athletes of the week, Dec. 3

In a vote that ended Dec. 3, readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Nov. 28.

Winners through Oct. 1 should have received a certificate through the school's athletic department. The next round will come out in a few weeks.

Once they reach the schools, please remember to send a picture of winning athletes with their certificates for the photo gallery to [email protected] 

Mercy Health is the presenting sponsor for the Sports Awards and Athlete of the Week.

Here are this week's top choices:

Football team: Winton Woods – The Warriors forced four turnovers in the red zone to beat Green 20-7 and advance to the Division II state title game.

Football player: Jack Walsh, Badin – The senior running back had 43 carries for 226 yards and two touchdowns in Badin’s 14-0 win over Granville Nov. 26 in the Division III state semifinal match.
