After becoming the first Ohio team to ever reach the Little League World Series baseball championship game, the city of Hamilton has events throughout the week to welcome back Hamilton West Side.
The team will have a meet with the community on Monday. Families will meet the players at Garfield Junior High at 6 p.m. and head over to the league fields at 1010 Eaton Ave. for the meet.
Hamilton will then roll out the red carpet on Tuesday morning. Five of the team's players are students at Wilson Middle School and they will be welcomed with a "Red Carpet return" with several city council and education board members.
Thursday will be the grand event of the week.
Team members will meet back at the league fields and at 7 p.m., a parade with players in classic cars will begin. The police will escort the parade down to the RiversEdge stage at Marcum Park where officials will honor the team. Already planned was a free movie in the park that attendees will be welcomed to stay and watch.
More detail for the Thursday event, including the parade route, will be released later.
