The crosstown tip-off challenge is heating up, with a total of $3,000 in tips left at local restaurants in less that 24 hours.
A $1,500 tip was left at the Incline Public House in East Price Hill on Monday Night, according to a Facebook post.
Then on Tuesday, a Xavier University fan left $1,500 in cash as a tip for a $25 bill at the Echo in Hyde Park, according to the restaurant's Facebook post.
A note left with that tip read: "This is OUR town! Go X!"
It started earlier this month when a Xavier fan left a $1,000 tip at Zip's Cafe in Mount Lookout.
Other tips have been left at Sacred Beast, Keystone Bar & Grill, Chanlders Burger Bistro, Dead Low Brewing and Arnold's Bar and Grill to name a few.
It's named "crosstown tip-off" after the annual college basketball game played in December between the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and Xavier Musketeers.
Fans take turns leaving generous tips at local restaurants, usually leaving a couple dollars more than what was left previously. Though it seems now fans are out-tipping each other in the hundreds.
Besides being a lighthearted way for college basketball fans to compete, the challenge is also used as a way to support restaurant workers who've been working throughout the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Now the ball is in UC's court.
