Jack Flaherty, named late last month by the St. Louis Cardinals as their Opening Day starter against the Cincinnati Reds, wasn't happy with his performance in his Spring Training debut Sunday against the Washington Nationals.
Flaherty allowed four hits and walked three before exiting the game with nobody out in the second inning.
From Derrick S. Goold via Twitter:
Flaherty was 4-3 with a 4.91 ERA and 1.215 WHIP in nine starts last season.
In seven career starts against the Reds, Flaherty is 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.224 WHIP. Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez has homered off of Flaherty twice.
