Jason Preston scored 22 points and added six rebounds, seven assists and five steals to help the Ohio University Bobcats to a 84-69 win Saturday night against the Buffalo Bulls to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament and earn an NCAA Tournament bid.
The Bobcats (16-7 overall, 10-5 in the MAC) were the No. 5 seed in the tournament. They will find out their NCAA Tournament seed on Selection Sunday.
Ohio will make its 14th appearance in the Big Dance, and first since 2012. The Bobcats beat Michigan and South Florida that year to reach the Sweet Sixteen, losing in overtime to North Carolina.
Ohio earned a first-round upset of Georgetown in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
Jeff Boals, a former player at Ohio, became the Bobcats' head coach in March 2019.
