Are you a conservative? The Enquirer would like to hear from you.
You may have seen our "Healing Ohio" efforts, to bridge the divide between right and left in Ohio.
Part of that is bridging our own divide — the one between the media and many Ohio conservatives who consider us "fake news" or biased. Others on the right just don't feel represented in our stories.
Trust and credibility is The Enquirer's most important attribute. Our journalists don't post rumors; they verify and confirm. They get many relevant voices as possible in a story. They choose stories that affect the lives of our Greater Cincinnati readers. Without understanding what's really happening in Greater Cincinnati, we can't solve our problems.
So we need your help.
We’ve partnered with the American Press Institute and Trusting News on a project called Re-engaging the Right, to study that deficit in trust. And we need your help.
What to know:
Who is invited?
Do you consider yourself right-leaning or conservative? If so, we’d like to know what you think about news coverage. You don't have to be a subscriber. Your participation will help us and the wider journalism industry better understand and reflect your views. Click on this link to take a survey and sign up to be interviewed.
The survey will send the data to the Center for Media Engagement, which will tabulate the results for a study, coming out later this year.
Are you willing to be interviewed?
The survey will ask if you're willing to be interviewed. The Center for Media Engagement will then share your contact information with The Enquirer. A few of our newsroom leaders will then listen to you, via Zoom, and share the information with the Reengaging the Right project.
If you’re selected to be interviewed, you’ll get a $25 gift card.
I'm liberal. Why aren't you inviting me?
Trust in media has been dropping overall, but among conservatives, it has plummeted. Only 10 percent of Republicans report generally trusting what they see in the news. If you aren't a conservative or Republican, you can still reach out to me at [email protected] any time - and many of you do.
Are you going to alter the news?
We remain committed to reporting the news in Greater Cincinnati. We realize some people believe things that are simply false, whether about COVID-19, the 2020 election, or the earth's shape.
But we realize that if half Greater Cincinnati does not believe us, then we will all be in trouble. And that's what we're trying to fix.
