A six-month rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 50 between Delta Avenue and William Howard Taft Road is set to begin on Monday, according to the Cincinnati Department of Transportation and Engineering.
Officials said through traffic will be allowed as crews work on the roadway, but drivers should be prepared for various lane closures.
Crews will be working in multiple lanes through next Saturday, beginning in the far eastbound lane of Taft Road and moving toward Delta Avenue, according to a release.
Traffic control devices, such as an electronic arrow board, will be stationed ahead of the work zone, officials said, adding that Cincinnati police will also assist with directing traffic.
At a cost of $3 million, the project, which is being funded through a state grant, includes "extensive, full-depth repairs and concrete pours," the release states.
The Sharonville-based John R. Jurgensen Co. has been contracted for the project. It is slated for completion by Oct. 31, officials said.
Crews will largely be out from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in lanes opposite to rush hour traffic and lanes will reopen when crews aren't working.
Westbound lane closures on U.S. 50 west of Taft Road will continue for the Columbia Parkway Hillside Stabilization project, officials said. That project is expected to finish late in the summer.
