ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky tweeted that only six National Football League teams should not be calling the Houston Texans about star quarterback Deshaun Watson - and the Cincinnati Bengals weren't on Orlovsky's list.
Sirius XM NFL analyst Geoff Schwartz replied to Orlovsky that "if Chargers are on this list, then so are the Bengals."
Orlovsky replied, "The knee scares me. That's all. I LOVE Burrow."
Fans of Burrow and the Bengals offered strong opinions in replies to Orlovsky's tweet:
Watson has acknowledged frustration with the Texans via social media. He reportedly pushed for the team to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Bengals player Eric Bieniemy for Houston's head coaching vacancy. The team didn't immediately express interest in Bieniemy, per multiple reports, but did announce Monday that Bieniemy was among four candidates - along with Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator and former Bengals coordinator Leslie Frazier - that were interviewed.
USA TODAY's Mike Jones wrote that "through a long list of poor decisions, both by management and ownership, the Texans have gone from contender to utter chaos in one calendar year."
Burrow said last week that he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from knee surgery, and told a story about the celebratory cigar photo that was taken shortly after he led LSU to the national championship about one year ago.
