A security guard was attacked by two women in Norwood Thursday after asking one to wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19, police report.
Shayvokia Belle, 29, of Springfield is charged with assault, obstruction of official business, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Chivone Roberson, 31, of Pleasant Ridge faces the same charges plus child endangerment.
Norwood police said an armed security guard was working at a store in the 4400 block of Montgomery Road around 10:45 p.m. when several people entered the store without masks.
The guard told police he asked one woman to put on a mask and she refused, but then asked if she could use her scarf or her shirt.
The guard agreed, according to court documents, but soon after the woman uncovered her face.
As another woman entered the store, the guard asked if she might have an extra mask for the first woman to put on. According to the guard, this woman began to strike him, tore his shirt and broke his glasses.
The court documents do not say which woman was Roberson and which was Belle.
Court documents state Belle was "voluntarily intoxicated," and that Roberson left her child unattended to participate in the incident.
Belle and Roberson are being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Belle's bond was set at $35,000 bond. Roberson's bond has not yet been determined.
