Brandon Sosna, ex-UC revenue officer, leaving USC for Detroit Lions

USC football head coach Lincoln Riley looks on with Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director Brandon Sosna during the college basketball game between the Arizona Wildcats and the USC Trojans on March 1, 2022 at Galen Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Brandon Sosna, a Sycamore High School graduate and former chief revenue officer for the Cincinnati Bearcats, is leaving the University of Southern California Trojans for the NFL's Detroit Lions, according to multiple reports Thursday.

ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Sosna - Southern Cal's executive senior associate athletic director - will become the Lions' senior director of football administration, adding that USC "made a significant push to keep him."

Sosna came to USC in 2019 with athletic director Mike Bohn from Cincinnati, becoming the Trojans' chief of staff for athletics. In a tweet announcing his move, Sosna called his final year at the University of Cincinnati "the most professionally fulfilling and fun year of my life."

Last November, Bohn called Sosna the architect of SC's search that landed head football coach Lincoln Riley. He was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30 2020: Sports."
