Marques Warrick leads NKU past Detroit

The Northern Kentucky men's basketball team was able to defeat Detroit Mercy for the first time this season, and will be advancing in the 2022 Keeps Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship as a result.

The Norse defeated the Titans 77-59 Thursday night at BB&T Arena and will move on to the Horizon League semifinals at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Monday.

Detroit defeated NKU twice in the regular season in a pair of game in February.

Sophomore Marques Warrick scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Norse. Freshman Sam Vinson added nine points, five rebounds and five assists and senior Trevon Faulkner scored 13 points.

Junior Chris Brandon, a Detroit Mercy transfer, had eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds for NKU.

Graduate student Kevin McAdoo scored 19 points and senior Antoine Davis had 17 for the Titans.
