Luke Fickell has officially added another piece to the University of Cincinnati football team's 2022 puzzle.
Fickell, who wrapped up his fifth season at the helm of the Bearcats program last month by leading UC to the College Football Playoff, announced Tuesday the addition of NAIA Kentucky Christian University transfer offensive lineman Dartanyan Tinsley.

“We are excited to welcome Dartanyan Tinsley to our Cincinnati football family,” Fickell said. “Dartanyan has the size, athleticism and competitiveness to make an impact here at UC. More importantly, he’s an all-around great young man. He has several ties to Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, so it was a natural fit for him to join our program. I’m looking forward to watching him work with Coach Cummings and seeing him practice this spring. He can be a great player for us.”
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Tinsley announced via Twitter on Thursday that he had committed to Cincinnati over offers from Western Kentucky and Temple, among others.
Tinsley earned first-team All-National Christian College Athletic Association honors in 2020-21 and garnered first-team All-Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division accolades in back-to-back seasons while at Kentucky Christian.
Tinsley, a former Owensboro (Kentucky) High School standout who spent his early years across the river in Covington, has three years of eligibility remaining.
Tinsley will look to find a spot in new UC offensive line coach Mike Cummings' rotation. Fickell announced Monday that the longtime Central Michigan assistant will be replacing Ron Crook as the O-line coach, while former Bearcats defensive lineman and team captain Walter Stewart will now coach the outside linebackers.
