CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The city of Cincinnati plans to pay tribute to a pioneering African-American woman.
Councilmember P.G. Sittenfeld said a motion to name a street in Cincinnati after Marjorie Parham should be before full council on Wednesday, and it is expected to pass.
Parham is a former publisher of the Cincinnati Herald newspaper, which she ran for decades. She pushed the publication to cover important issues like the Civil Rights Movement.
The next step will be to pick a street that would do her legacy justice.
In February, Parham will turn 102.
