FC Cincinnati welcomes new managing owner

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - FC Cincinnati welcomed its new managing owner, Meg Whitman, Monday.

The billionaire says her reported $100 million investment met all four criteria for which she and her husband were looking.

"It's just remarkable to me that in just one year on the pitch, Cincinnati has the third-highest attendance in Major League Soccer in a temporary stadium without a lot of track record. So, we think the future is very bright here," Whitman said. "So, I'll do everything I can to be helpful."

The minority stake Whitman and her husband, Dr. Griff Harsh, bought boosted the club's valuation to $500 million. That figure includes the $250 million West End stadium, $35 million Milford practice facility and $150 million MLS expansion fee.
