With the second week of the Ohio high school girls basketball season drawing more votes, defending Division I state champion Mount Notre Dame still holds a slim lead over Princeton for the top spot in the state. The Cougars received 10 first-place votes statewide from the Ohio Prep Sportswriter's Association to nine for Princeton.

Under first-year coach Dee Davis, Princeton defeated MND by 27 points on Dec. 22, but later forfeited when a junior varsity player appeared in an extra quarter on varsity than what is permitted. Thus, the Cougars remain undefeated with a regular-season win streak that stood at 83 before Tuesday's game with Mercy McAuley.
