Milford student allegedly made ‘kill list,’ school says

An alleged “kill list” at Milford Junior High School landed one student in police custody. According to school principal Misty Goetz, a student reportedly compiled a list of names of fellow students, referring to that list as a “kill list.”In a letter to parents, Goetz said the list was reported to school administration, who in turn called the Miami Township School Resource Officer. That student, who has not been named, was taken into custody by the Miami Township Police Department, Goetz said. Students and families involved have been notified. In a statement, Goetz writes in part, “We want to praise the students who spoke up and let school administration know about the situation, and we want to thank our law enforcement partners for their help in the matter. Student safety is foremost in our educational mission. We encourage you to speak with your student and let them know that we take every threat seriously. Students face possible suspension and/or expulsion for making threats, along with possible legal consequences. We cannot ever assume that a threat is a joke, and again, we take them all very seriously.”It's unclear if the student involved faces charges. No one was injured.
