An iconic Cincinnati holiday tradition is finding its home this year at Findlay Market.
The Shillito’s elves have moved around frequently since the Downtown department store closed in the 1980s, with yearly stints in places including Newport on the Levee and Mariemont near the Mariemont Inn.
And this year, they'll call Findlay Market home.
The elves will be displayed in the Leader Furniture building facing out at Findlay Market beginning at 11 a.m. on Black Friday, or Nov. 26. Findlay Market shoppers and visitors will be able to walk around and view them six days a week during market hours. On weekends, the elves will also be animated, according to a release.
The full collection of the original Shillito’s elves will not be on display, but viewers will be able to see six displays and the following scenes: Mail Sorter; Little Woodshop; Pete the Painter; Lazzie bear and Gift Wrap; Elves at Home; and Bedtime Elves.
