The fact that former Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker - now managing the Houston Astros against the Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship Series - was in the middle of an on-air, in-game interview with FOX when Boston's Enrique Hernández homered in the third inning Friday night felt too good to be true for Twitter comedians.
They weren't the only ones reminded - by Baker's priceless "Ohhh, lord!" reaction to the homer - of former Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman's on-air apology last year.
ESPN's Jeff Passan, in fact, referred to the occurrence as Dusty "getting Castellanos'd":
"I blame Fox for that," Baker said after the Astros' 5-4 win in ALCS Game 1.
Last month, the Pittsburgh Pirates' official Twitter account tweeted a reference to Brennaman's apology when the Pirates took a 4-0 lead against the Reds.
Baker was the Reds' manager from 2008 to 2013. Among the four remaining teams in MLB's postseason, he is the Astros' only known connection to the Reds and/or Greater Cincinnati high schools or universities.
