THERE IS EVERYTHING TOHE CCK OUT INTO BUY THIS WEEKEND. OH, YEAH COLIN. THIS IS A BIG EVENT FOR CINCINNATI AND IT’S REALLY QUIET OUT HERE, RIGHT? BUT THAT IS ALL GOING TO CHANGE HERE JUST IN A FEW HOURS WHEN THINGS GET STAEDRT HERATE NOON, BUT I AM HERE THIS MORNING WITH JANE UTTER MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THIS EVENT JANE. WELL, WE’RE ONE OF THE OLDEST RUNNGIN ART SHOWS IN THE COUNTRY AND WE PULL THE CREAM OF THE CROP FROM ALL OVER WE’VE GOT FROM CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, FLORIDA, MICHIGAN, CONNECTICUT. THEY COME FROM EVERYWHERE AS WELL AS RIGHT HERE IN CINCINNATI BECAUSE WE DO HAVE SOME GREAT ARTISTS HERE AS WELL. AND THIS IS A CINCINNATI STAPLE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG LONG TIME, BUT FOR SOMEBODY THAT MIGHT NOT HAVE, YOU KNOW BEEN TO THIS EVENT BEFORE IT’S GOING FOR THE FIRST TIME. WHAT CAN THEY EXPECT THIS YEAR? WELL, WE’RE FINE ARTS AND FINE CRAFTS AND WE HAVE OVER 350 PEOPLE OR ACTUALLY 350 PEOPLE HERE THIS YEAR IN ALL CATEGORIES. SO CAN GET ONE-OF-A-KIND ORIGALIN ART PIECES DRAWING PAINTING PHOTOGRAPHY PAINT JEWELRY. OF COURS IE HAVE ON A PIECE AND SO IT’S JUST GREAT TO COME. IT’S KIND O LIKE COMING TO THE ART MUSEUM, BUT YOU GET TO PURCHASE THE THINGS AND TAKE THEM HOME. YEAH AND SPEAKING OF PURCHASING THINGS. Summerfair returns for 55th year
The three-day art festival is back for its 55th year. The event will feature 350 artists, hand-selected from all over the country.

Summerfair, one of the nation's longest-running art fairs, is back for its 55th year.This is a juried art show that features 350 hand-selected artists and vendors from Cincinnati and across the country. If you're worried about finding something you'll like, there is truly art for everybody. You'll be able to find and purchase everything from ceramics to sculptures, to paintings and photography. The money generated goes back to supporting "individual artists and small arts organizations through scholarships, awards and exhibitions."Jayne Utter, Managing Director of Summerfair said, "We usually rank in the top 10. We’ve gotten into the top 3, which is voted on by the artists. So the artists love us, they love Cincinnati. Cincinnati is an artful town and it shows. You know, we get about 20,000 people that come in and everybody buys because you're going to get a one-of-a-kind item that nobody else has.” Utter said to pick up a map when you first come in the door. That map will feature a newer "green square" of art, located where the Coney rides are usually set up.Aside from art, the event features children's art stations, food and live entertainment. Utter said this is an event visitors come back for again and again, “We have so many people that come back year after year – we see their children grow up and their art that they do in the youth arts area they get better and better each year. You know people have maybe broken a piece or wanted to add a piece from the same artist. We’ve got a lot of regular artists that will be here. So you can come back and see your favorites. But we have a lot of new people coming in this year too. So be sure to come down and check out everybody because you’re going to find some really fantastic artwork.” The event will be held at Coney Island Friday, June 3, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Adult admission is $10.00 a day or $15.00 for the weekend. Children 12 and under are free. Summerfair will go on rain or shine.
