Cincinnati Animal CARE is commemorating a local family who have fostered 150 animals with the shelter!Alan Gross and Linda King have fostered 150 pets since September of 2020, CAC says, and say the two embody the organization's mantra of "fostering saves lives."“There aren’t even words to express our gratitude to Alan & Linda,” said Ray Anderson, Community Engagement Manager, in a press release. “150 is just the number of animals they’ve had in their home, but they’ve been an invaluable resource to other foster families and the organization as a whole. They’ve helped save countless lives.”“Linda and I are both social workers and we haven’t always been able to experience the positive impact of our work. With fostering the need is great, the impact of our efforts are immediate and we get to surround ourselves with loving, grateful dogs and cats. Plus, there’s always kitten season to look forward to!” said Gross in a press release.“We foster with CAC because that’s where the need is greatest in our area. The number of animals they take in every day is just overwhelming and we feel that our ability to care for so many needy animals might make a little difference. And, the staff and volunteers are such dedicated, committed folks you can’t help but do your part,” said King.Gross and King say one of their most memorable fosters was a dog, Pia, who had been hit by a car and lost the use of her back legs, CAC said. “We helped her get healthy, created a fund for a wheelchair and by the time she was adopted she was running around just like a regular young dog," they said in a press release.
