IT’S JUST VERY DISCOURAGING COMING AND IT JUST ZAPS YOUR ENERGY BECAUSE YOU GO, OKAY, YOU’RE ALREADY PROBABLY HAVING DIFFERENT CHALLENGES IN YOUR LIFE. THEN YOU COME OUT AND SEE THIS CHALLENGE AND YOU JUST GO, IT’S JUST ANOTHER TEST. POLICE WILL TELL YOU. CAR BREAK INS ARE CONSIDERED A CRIME OF OPPORTUNITY. THE APARTMENT MANAGEMENT HAS TURNED OVER SURVEILLANCE VIDEO TO POLICE, AND WE’VE REQUESTED THAT VIDEO AS. THIS IS AGAIN OUR FOURTH TIME HAVING TO REPLACE A WINDOW CAR. A CAR KEYS HAVE BEEN TAKEN. GLASSES HAVE BEEN TAKEN. THINGS IN THE CAR WERE JUST STREWN ABOUT. THEY WERE JUST THROUGHOUT THE CAR. JUST THEY JUST MADE A MESS. THEY JUST WENT THROUGH THE GLOVE BOXES. ONE LONG TIME BUSINESS OWNER WHO LEARNED ABOUT THE NEARBY CRIMES SAYS SHE’S FELT SAFE WITH THE POLICE STATION JUST A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. SHE ALSO WANTS MORE POLICE BACK ON THE BEAT AS. THE NEIGHBORHOOD CONTINUES TO GROW. AT ONE POINT, THEY USED TO ACTUALLY WALK UP AND DOWN THE DISTRICT, THE BUSINESS DISTRICT, BUT I HAVEN’T SEEN THEM LATELY. BUT I THINK IT’S REALLY HELPFUL. Residents at a College Hill apartment complex are experiencing a rash of car vandalism.At least 18 vehicles were hit according to a resident at the complex along Hamilton Ave.Some residents said they have had their windows broken out four times since the HaNoBe Apartment complex opened last August.It’s become a big headache with very few solutions. Thieves had stolen everything from catalytic converters to entire cars.“Today is just so discouraging coming out and it just zaps your energy because you’re already having different challenges in your life and you go it’s another test,” resident Bobbin Bowers said.Authorities have said car break-ins are considered a crime of opportunity. The apartment management has turned over surveillance video to police. They also ask anyone with information about the crime to contact police.
