"We got a family out here hurting right now because of something like this," said community activist Mitchell Morris. He said it does not matter who you are or what neighborhood you are from, gun violence needs to stop. The most recent homicide shows that no one is immune to flying bullets. "I want to say I'm sorry to the family that something like this has happened in this city in our community and to all the families that we have met over the years who have lost loved ones to this gun violence," Morris said. Around 3 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting at Stanley Rowe Apartment complex. Upon arrival, police found 44-year-old Aaron Zander suffering from a gunshot wound where he was taken to UC Medical Center and later died. Zander is a close family member of former Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory. Officials say the scene spanned about three blocks at the Stanley Rowe apartment complex."It's a lot of people that be about the right things just somebody got to grab them by the hand and show them something different," Morris said.Authorities said their investigation is ongoing and asked anyone who may have information to call 513-352-3040.This is a developing story.
