Cincinnati football coach Scott Satterfield: record, salary, more

The University of Cincinnati is hiring Scott Satterfield away from the University of Louisville ahead of their matchup in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl.

Cincinnati hires Satterfield eight days after former coach Luke Fickell left the Bearcats to be the new head coach for the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Satterfield, a 49-year-old Hillsborough, North Carolina, native, leaves Louisville three years after being named the ACC Coach of the Year.

Here are five things to know about Satterfield:

Former quarterback at Appalachian State

Satterfield was a first-team, all-conference quarterback for Appalachian State in 1995 when he accounted for more than 2,000 yards (1,461 passing and 649 rushing yards) from scrimmage. The Mountaineers completed a perfect regular season en route to a conference championship that year.
