Damar Hamlin's care team at UC Medical Center received a key to the city from Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval Thursday morning. “The inspirational work done by Damar Hamlin’s medical care team is a testament to the powerful impact of UC Health and all our healthcare workers. These are true heroes, and they spend every day saving the lives of our family, friends, and neighbors. It’s been incredible to see Cincinnati rally around Damar and those who stepped up to help him recover, as UC Health workers have once again shown what our community is made of,” Mayor Pureval said in a press release.During Jan. 2's Monday Night Football game between the Bengals and Buffalo Bills, Hamlin, a safety for the Bills, collapsed after making a tackle and suffered cardiac arrest on the field at Paycor Stadium.He was taken to UC Medical Center by ambulance and received treatment there for a week before being transferred to a hospital in Buffalo. The game between the Bengals and Bills was canceled.UC Medical Center is home to Greater Cincinnati's only Level I trauma center.
