The Cincinnati Zoo has welcomed two of its newest members!In a Facebook post, the zoo announced the birth of two male bat-eared fox kits, who were born on April 6 to Frankie and Otis, marking the first kits for the two."Years of planning, research, collaboration, and effort have gone into getting everything just right for successful breeding," the zoo said on its blog. "Though there have been many attempts between Frankie and her mate, Otis, they were never ultimately successful. Until now."The zoo says they were able to confirm Frankie's pregnancy in early March and weekly ultrasounds were performed to help zoo keepers determine the number of kits in the litter (which can range from two to six).As of Monday, the kits were over 240g, have their eyes open and are wandering to the entrance of the den, the zoo says.
