Here are the local teams that change OHSAA football divisions in 2023

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its divisional and regional breakdowns for 2023, including a number of local schools that changed divisions based on enrollment and the OHSAA's competitive balance formula.

With practice beginning on July 31 and the first Friday night of the season on Aug. 18, here are the local teams that will be competing in different postseason divisions in 2023.

Aiken

After competing in Division II last season, a change in enrollment numbers dropped the Falcons down to Division III where they will compete in Region 12.

Bethel-Tate

A year after a 5-5 campaign that saw them miss the postseason, the Bethel-Tate Tigers will drop from Division IV to Division V, Region 20 for 2023. The OHSAA cites enrollment numbers for the drop down.

Riverview East Academy

A playoff team in Division VII last year with a 3-8 record, the Riverview East Academy Hawks were hit by the competitive balance formula. The Hawks move up to Division VI, Region 24.

Fayetteville-Perry

Fayetteville-Perry didn't field a football team in 2022, but would compete in Division VII, Region 28 in 2023.
