Still scoreless (37')
A Quimi Ordonez goal was flagged for offside, and it was the right call. He's the second-best attacker on the field after Cameron Lancaster of Louisville, who is starting to torment the young FCC back line.
Louisville doing what's required (15')
FC Cincy ripped off the first major chance of the match. Quimi Ordonez was played in onside, was one-versus-one versus Louisville goalkeeper Kyle Morton and rounded him. But old foe Sean Totsch, who was in hot pursuit of Ordonez, slid across the open goal mouth to block the shot.
On the other end of the field, FCC goalkeeper Alec Kann has two very necessary saves so far. We're still scoreless but this is the roadmap for Louisville to follow if they're to advance.
A rivalry renewed (1')
We're underway on a beautiful evening in the West End.
The starters
Not unexpectedly, FC Cincinnati head coach Pat Noonan's made wholesale changes to his starting lineup. Nick Hagglund is the only holdover from Saturday's MLS win against Portland Timbers. FCC's starting lineup has an average age of about 23.4, but the likes of Brandon Vazquez, Luciano Acosta, Matt Miazga and others are on the bench if things get hairy for FCC's young lineup.
FC Cincinnati starting XI: Alec Kann (GK), Joey Akpunonu, Ian Murphy, Nick Hagglund, Isaiah Foster, Alvas Powell, Stiven Jiminez, Malik Pinto, Marco Angulo, Dominique Badji, Arquimides Ordonez.
