Former Cincinnati Bengals player Eric Bieniemy - the Chiefs' offensive coordinator since 2018 who coached Kansas City's running backs the previous five seasons - is signing a one-year deal to remain the team's OC, according to a report Thursday via Twitter from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero reported earlier this month that Bieniemy's contract with the Chiefs was expiring.

The New Orleans Saints interviewed Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy - one week after the Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs by the Bengals in the AFC Championship. The Saints hired defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as their new head coach.

The Denver Broncos announced last month that they interviewed Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy. The Broncos hired Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their head coach days later.
