More from a press release about Chase's appearance:
CINCINNATI (Feb. 17, 2022) – All-Pro wideout Ja’Marr Chase has been playing more than football this week. In addition to reeling in five receptions for 89 yards, Chase surprised hundreds of local “Caniacs” by serving up chicken fingers in a Raising Cane’s drive-thru yesterday.
Chase put his sure hands to the test by passing out Box Combos to surprised and delighted Customers in the Raising Cane’s drive-thru on Beechmont Ave. in Cincinnati. The newly crowned Rookie of the Year – a self-proclaimed Caniac since his college days at LSU – also greeted fans at the counter during his visit to the Restaurant.
“I’ve been a Chase fan ever since his record-breaking days at LSU,” said Todd Graves, Founder & Co-CEO of Raising Cane’s. “He’s one of the best receivers on the planet, and we’re proud to call him a Caniac. College All-American to professional All-Pro; it doesn’t get much better than that. We love surprising our Customers – and our amazing Crewmembers, too – with unexpected visitors, and we’re grateful Chase dropped by to thank his fans for their support throughout the season.”
Chase had a remarkable 46-yard catch from quarterback Joe Burrow late in the first quarter of Super Bowl 56 to set up Cincinnati's first score of the game.
"I have to say - Ja'Marr Chase is one of the great catchers of the football in contested, wrestling, one-handed situations in the Super Bowl," NBC color analyst and former Bengals receiver Cris Collinsworth said of the catch. "He is one of the best finishers of catches I think I've ever seen in my lifetime. So many times this year. Going against Ramsey and making a play like that, wow!"
Before the game, Collinsworth said Chase is "in my estimation, is already the best receiver that I've ever seen play with a Cincinnati Bengals uniform on."
