It's got to be the most a tweet by the police department in Lakewood, Colorado, has been liked and retweeted by Bengals fans.
Someone in the department apparently concurred with Fox Sports analyst and former NFL official Mike Pereira's assessment that Logan Wilson's defensive-holding penalty late in Super Bowl 56 on the Rams' 3rd-and-goal at the Bengals' 8 was "just not holding."
"Just hold someone," the Lakewood PD tweet suggested on Valentine's Day, "but a real one, not like the fake one that allowed the #Rams to get a 1st & goal inside of 2 min."
Why the beef with Super Bowl officials and/or the Rams? "We will zing anyone," read a tweet from the department last week.
In addition to the Wilson penalty, Bengals running back Samaje Perine may have gotten a bad spot on 3rd-and-1 after the Bengals got the ball back following the Rams' go-ahead touchdown.
Earlier in the second half, some wanted a penalty called on Tee Higgins when the Bengals receiver scored on a 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Burrow.
