Jesse Minter will be Michigan’s new defensive coordinator, per reports

Jesse Minter was a Vanderbilt football coordinator.

Vanderbilt Commodores defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, a 2005 Mount St. Joseph University graduate and four-year football letterwinner at MSJ, is expected to be named the Michigan Wolverines' new defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports Tuesday night.

Minter was named Vandy's DC and safeties coach about one year ago, after four seasons as a Baltimore Ravens defensive assistant.

Minter spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach for the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2008 and 2009. He is the son of Rick Minter - UC's head coach from 1994 to 2003.

Minter joined the Ravens as an assistant coach under Miami University graduate and former UC special teams coordinator John Harbaugh - the brother of his new boss, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh - in 2017. He also has been a defensive coordinator at Georgia State and Indiana State.
