During ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" pregame show before the division round game between the Bengals and Titans last week, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan said that Burrow reminded him of Tom Brady.
"This guy has 'it,'" Ryan said earlier this month. "I compare him to Tom Brady. I see a higher killer. I see those eyes. I see that confidence. And I see what he does to his teammates. He pumps airs into all his teammates."

Bengals vs. Chiefs:How the greatest team you've never heard of led to the Bengals playing the Chiefs
On Saturday, ESPN reported that Brady, winner of seven Super Bowls, including in 2021 when he led Tampa Bay to win over the Chiefs, was retiring. The network has been documenting Brady's career since, and on Sunday, Burrow was once again compared to Brady, who has won more games than any quarterback in NFL history, on Countdown.
"You talk about how the league is in great hands, with all these super star quarterbacks," Ryan said, " and at times I’ve mentioned how Joe Burrow reminds me so much of Tom Brady. But it’s the traits that I see. The face, that courage, that composure in big moments. … however, there will never be another Tom Brady."
