The Cincinnati Bengals got a huge defensive stop during the second quarter of Saturday's playoff game against the Titans in Nashville from a player who didn't start the season with the team and didn't have a tackle in last week's win against the Raiders.
Linebacker Clay Johnston stopped Titans running back Derrick Henry on Tennessee's 2-point conversion attempt that followed his touchdown. Tennessee opted to go for two points instead of trying an extra point after a penalty against the Bengals.
The game remained tied at 6 after Johnston's stop. Later in the second quarter, Evan McPherson's third field goal of the game gave the Bengals a 9-6 lead.
Johnston made 12 tackles in the regular-season finale against Cleveland, but only had five tackles in five games with the Bengals before that. The Bengals acquired Johnston on waivers from the Carolina Panthers in November.
