Family of Christmas Day hit and run victim wants driver to step forward

Bernadette Hampton-Dufau says this week between Christmas and New Years has been almost unbearable for her family following the Christmas Day death of her great niece La'Dre Gibson.“This is hitting us so hard.. not just because of the way it happened, but because she is so young. She had so much life in her. And I watch her children and there are just lost right now.” Gibson leaves behind two children an 8-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter. “We as a family have to stand fast and hold each other up. Everybody always talks about family over everything. This is the time to show it and stand forward.”According to police, the other driver fled the scene. Hampton-Dufau says the family just wants someone to come forward. “We’re just asking as a family that someone say something. It's not even about revenge or we want you to get life in jail. We just want someone to take accountability. You took a beautiful 28-year-old baby away from her family her children, her aunts, her uncles, and we just want some answers".The Cincinnati Police ask anyone with information about this hit and run to contact the Traffic Unit at (513) 352-2514.
