Joe Burrow says he won’t play in Bengals’ game against Browns

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said he will not be playing in the regular-season finale against the Browns on Sunday. After the Bengals clinched the AFC North and a playoff spot against the Chiefs, it was unlikely Burrow and many other starters would play in the Week 18 matchup.

Burrow, 25, has suffered knee and pinkie injuries and resting against Cleveland will allow the Bengals' star quarterback a week off to gear up for the Cincinnati's first playoff game next weekend.

Head coach Zac Taylor called Burrow early on in the week to let him know he would not be playing. Burrow will practice this week and believes the reps he gets in practice will allow him to stay on top of his game.

Burrow said his right knee is "sore" but he could play if it was necessary.
