The Notre Dame head coaching job is now open and that's always been one school Bearcats fans have been worried about when it comes to losing Luke Fickell.It was a calm Monday night in Clifton before Brian Kelly decided to blindside Notre Dame just like he did to UC back in 2009Fickell is expected to be one of the top candidates for Notre Dame but for now, Fickell is still focused on leading UC to a conference title this weekend. Fickell has the No. 4 Bearcats one win away from a college football playoff berth.There's always been three schools WLWT's Brandon Saho thinks Fickell would consider leaving Cincinnati for. No. 1 is Ohio State, then the now open job is at Notre Dame and third was Michigan State, which he already turned down.But Kelly bolting for the bayou has UC fans concerned that Fickell could soon be getting a call from South Bend.While Fickell is a top candidate, so his old defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman.During Monday's conference title game press conference, Fickell was asked about how he handles his name being tied to head coach openings."I'm no different than what I talked about for our team that we don't focus on. We don't talk about, you know, individual things. We make sure we keep this stuff within our family and with, you know, we don't talk or focus on or worry about those other things," he said. "They'll take care of themselves at some point in time. That's the way I go about things. That's the way we want our program to go about things and it's not going to change."UC is getting ready for the conference championship game against Houston Saturday at 4 p.m.
