Many of the fans who watched the Cincinnati Bearcats' impressive win Saturday at Nippert Stadium against the SMU Mustangs on Senior Day hoped to get home in time to settle in for a primetime showdown between the Oregon Ducks and Utah Utes.
Fans chanted "Let's go, Utah!" during the second half of UC's 48-14 win, knowing that a loss by Oregon might make room for the Bearcats among the top four teams in the College Football Playoff rankings.
From The Enquirer's Keith Jenkins via Twitter:
Utes leading rusher Tavion Thomas, who played his first two seasons at UC before transferring to Utah, is among players UC fans are rooting for Saturday night. Thomas entered Saturday with 742 rushing yards through nine games, and his first-quarter touchdown against Oregon was his 15th of the season.
Utah (7-3) was favored by Las Vegas sportsbooks to beat Oregon (9-1).
