Cincinnati Enquirer names high school athletes of the week, Nov. 19

In a vote that ended Nov. 19, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Cincinnati Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Mercy Health, from high school sports action through Nov. 14.

Winners through Oct. 1 should have received a certificate through the school's athletic department. The next round will come out in a few weeks.

Once they reach the schools, please remember to send a picture of winning athletes with their certificates for the photo gallery to mlaughman@enquirer.com. Please note: The Enquirer named the Division I tennis champion this week's athlete of the week.

Mercy Health is the presenting sponsor for the Cincinnati.com Sports Awards and Athlete of the Week.

Here are this week's top choices:

Ohio football team: Western Brown – The Western Brown Broncos improved to 11-2 after beating Jackson 35-28.

Northern Kentucky football team: Bishop Brossart – Bishop Brossart improved to 12-0, beating Nicholas County 36-0. The Mustangs have outscored opponents 305-56 in 2021.

Boys team: Wyoming boys soccer - Wyoming junior Louie Trenkamp connected on a header from close range with 2:51 to go in regulation, the only goal Wyoming needed to defeat Bay Village Bay 1-0 in the OHSAA Division II state championship game Saturday at Lower.com Field. It was the school's first-ever soccer title.
