Police identify man and woman killed in fiery I-75 crash Friday


Cincinnati Police have identified the two individuals killed in a fiery crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 75 Friday afternoon. 

Momin Shoukri, 26, and Rose Portillo, 37, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, according to Cincinnati Police. 

The crash happened around 3 p.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75, near Hopple Street and the Interstate 74 exit.

According to police, Shoukri was driving a 2014 Freightliner tractor semi-trailer traveling south on I-75 when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete barrier, crossing onto the northbound lanes.

His vehicle then collided nearly head-on with a 2015 Volvo D13 tractor semi-trailer traveling north, police said. 

The 2014 Freightliner tractor semi-trailer caught fire because of the collision, according to police. The driver, Shoukir, and the passenger, Portillo, did not escape the vehicle and died at the scene, police stated.
