Following the success of similar initiatives last year, Airbnb is restricting certain bookings in Cincinnati in an effort to reduce parties during New Year's Eve.
The company is banning single-night bookings for entire home listings for guests without a history of positive reviews, according to a news release. Those restrictions started on Tuesday.
"As we build upon the party ban and continue to protect our community during this unprecedented time, certain holidays, such as New Years’ Eve, attract higher risks of unauthorized or disruptive parties," the release states.

Airbnb implemented a global party ban in 2020 in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the company said. In Cincinnati, over 150 parties were deterred as a result of various anti-party measures for entire home listings over last year's New Year's Eve celebration.
The company will also start implementing restrictions for two-night reservations as New Year's Eve approaches, the release states.
Guests with a history of positive reviews will not be subject to these restrictions.
