We may still be waiting for the fall colors, but another sign of the winter season is almost upon us. Ice skating returns to Fountain Square on Nov. 1.
Yep, that’s next week.
Before you even finish your Halloween candy, you can strap on skates and get into the spirit of the holidays.
The rink, which is operated by Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), will have limited reservations before the full opening celebration on Nov. 6, along with the arrival of the Christmas tree on the square.

“Ice skating at Fountain Square is one of Greater Cincinnati’s most cherished holiday traditions,” said Tamara Lang, director of community relations for UC Health, sponsor of the UC Health Ice Rink.
Also returning to the ice are the bumper cars that were a popular addition last year. Earlier this year, Fountain Square added its own full-service container bar, as well, which will be outfitted with heaters as it remains open during the ice-skating season.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Tyler Davidson Fountain at Fountain Square, which has been a centerpiece for holiday celebrations for generations.
The ice rink will have COVID-19 restrictions, including timed reservations and limited capacity on the ice. For a schedule and reservations, go to www.myfountainsquare.com.
