Wright-Patterson Air Force Base says "normal operations have resumed" after one of its gates was temporarily closed in a precautionary measure.
Officials said explosive monitoring sensors were triggered during the routine inspection of a semi-truck around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Gate 26A and part of State Route 235 were temporarily closed while emergency personnel conducted an investigation, according to the base's Twitter account.
Officials gave the all-clear alert at 5:37 p.m.
Last month, the base was forced to go into lockdown for several hours following reports of an active shooter. The lockdown was eventually lifted and no one was harmed.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is located approximately 11 miles northeast of Dayton, Ohio. As the largest single-site employer in Ohio, it boasts an annual economic impact of $4.2 billion, with a workforce comprised of over 30,000, including military, civilians and contractors.
