College basketball's first Associated Press top-25 poll was released Monday, a little more than three weeks from the start of the 2021-22 season.
Xavier University's men's basketball team came in at No. 32, listed under receiving votes.
Several of the Musketeers' opponents are ranked to start the season, led by perennial Big East Conference power Villanova at No. 4.
Memphis, a possible opponent depending on what happens at the NIT Season Tip-Off event at the end of November, came in at No. 12.
Ohio State visits Cintas Center on Nov. 18 as part of the Gavitt Games and the Buckeyes are ranked No. 17.
UConn's ranked No. 24 and Oklahoma State, Xavier's Big East-Big 12 Battle partner, is ranked just ahead of the Musketeers at No. 31.
