Boone County sheriff’s deputy struck, injured during pursuit


A Boone County sheriff's deputy was struck by a vehicle while he was on duty Friday.According to Lt. Phillip Ridgell with the Boone County Sheriff's Office, deputies were engaging in a pursuit that started in Union after a car was stolen.A deputy was out on the side of U.S. 42 near I-75 and was attempting to put out stop sticks when he was hit. The driver then continued into Erlanger, officials said.The driver fled from the car in Erlanger. It's unclear how many people were inside the vehicle when the deputy was hit.The deputy was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.This is a developing story.
