Ohio launches self-service BMV kiosks


Ohio is launching new self-service kiosks to reduce time at the BMV.The Ohio BMV Express kiosks will serve as an ATM-like machine to pay for your vehicle registration and license plate stickers on the spot.You can renew your registration up to 90 days before expiration at the kiosk. The kiosks will charge a $4.95 service fee for up to 4 vehicles renewed at the kiosk. Additionally, there is a 1.95% or $1.75 (whichever is greater) credit card processing fee.Credit and "pinless" debit cards are accepted at all locations. Users can scan the barcode located on the outside of the renewal notification notice between the Ohio return address and the First-Class postage or scan the barcode on your current vehicle registration. You can also use the touchscreen to type in your plate number.Then the kiosk will charge the renewal fee and print your vehicle registration and license plate sticker on the spot.
