Icy and snowy roads lead to crashes in Clermont county

LIVE IN CLERMONT COUNTY WITH A LOOK AT SOME OF THE HARDEST HIT AREAS. YOU KNOW MOST OF THOSE CRASHES SEEM TO COME AT ONCE. FIRST RESPONDERS TELL ME THEY WERE SLAMMED, ESPECIALLY I THE EVENING HOURS. SOME OF THESE ROADS ARE WET. IT DID NOT FARE WELL FOR EVERYONE. SLIPPERY A SNOW-COVERED ROADS CAUSING PROBLEMS. MAKING FOR A BUSY NIGHT FOR FIRST RESPONDERS AND F SALT TRUCK DRIVERS TRYING TO KEEP UP. >> MODERATE TO HEAVY DAMAGE. >> OHIO STATE PATROL SAYS THIS SENT TWO PEOPLE TO THE HOSPITAL. ALL THREE HAVE SERIOUS INJURIES. THAT ARE NOT BELIEVED BE LIFE-THREATENING. >> I DO HAVE A SECOND CAR WITH CONFIRMED ENTRAPMENT. >> HE SAYS AIR WAS REQUESTED BUT DECLINED. THERE WAS MORE TROUBLE IN 270 FIVE, INJURING ONE PERSON. A MINOR INJURY REPORTED IN DEERFIELD ROAD IN A CRASH THAT BRIEFLY BLOCKED THE ROAD. THE SNOW CAME DOWN HEAVIER IN PARTS OF KENTUCKY, CAUSING MORE ISSUES ON THE ROAD. A VIEWER TOOK THIS VIDEO ON ROUTE 32. I COVERED WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND SNOW-COVERED ROADS. THIS CAR ON IT TOP, SENDING A MESSAGE. TAKE IT SLOW. TAKING A LOOK AT 275 BEST TO TAKE IT SLOW, ESPECIALLY IN THOSE SIDE ROADS. WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN WORD OF THE OTHER SERIOUS CRASHES.

Emergency responders kept busy on Christmas Eve


Snow and ice led to numerous crashes around Clermont County on Thursday evening.A band of snow moved through the region starting at about 4:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, coating roads east of I-275 with plunging temperatures making roads and highways slick and dangerous for drivers.Just before 5:30 p.m. rescue units were called to SR52 and Grant Farm Road in Monroe Township for two vehicles that hit head-on. Three people, including one child, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Air Care was called to the scene but could not fly due to the weather.Dispatchers reported crashes, slide-offs and small collisions due to the conditions on SR 132 in Goshen, SR 32 near Batavia, Route 232 in Monroe Township and on SR 131 in Miami Township as well.
