The Diocese of Covington will install Monsignor John Iffert as its 11th bishop on Thursday, Sept. 30.
Due to limited space, entrance to the 3 p.m. ceremony at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, 1140 Madison Ave. in Covington, will be limited to ticket holders.
The installation will be livestreamed from the cathedral website at covcathedral.com.
A reception will be held from 6 to 9 that evening at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center at 1 W. Rivercenter Blvd. in Covington. Admission is open to all.

Iffert, 53, had been serving as a parish priest for St. Stephen parish in Caseyville, Illinois, and as the vicar general for the Diocese of Belleville, Illinois.
He succeeds Bishop Roger Foys, who is retiring after serving 19 years at the post that oversees 14 counties in Northern Kentucky.
